The People's Guide College Application and Essay Workshop

At this workshop you will have a chance to ask all your questions about college applications and essays. Which topics are good? Which are dangerous? How can one possibly think about the finances? How will you make peace with leaving home or having your young person leave you? How do you decide whether to take the SAT again, to apply to more schools, easier schools, harder schools, rural schools, urban schools? How do you do extracurriculars, lead, organize? I got you! You’ll walk out with your app started. Bring a laptop or something to write with! 

I’m Jill Constantino. I taught writing at Michigan and Harvard for a good long time. I was also a dean at Harvard and now, I’m the director of the Tangled Bank Writing Center and a college consultant. I am especially trained in writing paralysis (as a writer), parental terror (as a mother of four),…
